Practices of Looking

In this poster, the use of gaze is very powerful. Each character is looking off in nearly every direction. There is also a seemingly hierarchy of power due to the placement and scale of each character. The use of the color red also incites fear or anxiety into the viewer. I feel as if the red character is very dangerous and the city bathed in red is somehow in danger.

This poster uses hierarchy and balance to establish dominance. The triangular shape of the 3 characters also creates movement within the poster. 

This poster also uses hierarchy to establish the most important characters in the film. There is also use of color to establish different parts of the movie. I assume the person tinted in red is evil and the other 3 men are the "good guys".

The poster again uses hierarchy to create movement within the poster. My eye is natural drawn from the largest face to the smallest in a diagonal direction.

Design Principles 2

This photo uses scale to show the importance of each set of text. The most important info is larger and the secondary info becomes smaller and smaller.

This photo uses line and a sense of hierarchy to create movement. Your eyes are naturally drawn from the text down to the head at the bottom.

There is an interesting use of space in this photo. Most of the content is on the left side of the picture, slowly bleeding into the rest of the space. There is a lot of white negative space but it is used effectively.
